List of Values

At the very root of working on your own happiness, you need to figure out what you believe in, what you stand for. It might sound grant, but you need to figure out your purpose in life!

There are many lists of values available on the Internet. Here’s one I published in the book Relax Focus Succeed® in 2007.

What’s that you say? Who cares?

At the very root of working on your own happiness, you need to figure out what you believe in, what you stand for. It might sound grant, but you need to figure out your purpose in life!

That work start with trying to figure out what’s important to you. From this long list of values, pick about ten that you consider the most important in your life. Write them down and set them aside.

After you’ve had some time to let this sink in, narrow down the list to only 3-5 values. Go over them again and again. You should be completely comfortable with this short list: These values are more important to you than any others.

Only when you’re done with this exercise can you move on to the next step: translating these values into the daily actions in your life. That’s discussed here.
